CallMeDaily is an AI-powered German language learning app. Maya is our AI tutor. We are committed to protecting your privacy. We do not sell your data to anyone.

2. What We Collect

• Email address (account creation)
• Display name (chosen by you)
• Native language and German level
• Country / region (auto detected)
• Learning interests you select
• Microphone input during speaking practice (not stored permanently)
• Conversation history with Maya (to track progress)
• App usage data (streak, words learned, session length)

3. What We Do Not Collect

• Full name or government ID
• Phone number
• Precise GPS location
• Contacts or address book
• Photos or camera
• Financial details (handled by Razorpay / Stripe directly)
• Data from children under 13

4. How We Use Your Data

• To provide personalised German learning
• To power Maya's AI conversations
• To track your progress and streak
• To send reminders (only if opted in)
• To improve the app
• To provide customer support

5. AI and Conversation Data

Maya is powered by Anthropic Claude, a third-party AI service operated by Anthropic, Inc. (anthropic.com). Before your first conversation, the app displays a disclosure and asks for your consent.

• What is sent: your conversation messages and voice input (converted to text) are transmitted to Anthropic, Inc. to generate Maya's responses
• Who receives it: Anthropic, Inc. — see their privacy policy at anthropic.com/privacy
• Voice: processed by Soniox (speech-to-text) and Inworld AI (voice generation) — audio is not stored permanently
• Storage: we store conversation summaries for progress tracking; full transcripts are not stored permanently
• You can delete sessions from Progress in the app, or request full data deletion by email

6. Third-Party Services We Share Data With

The following third parties may receive your personal data to deliver the service. Each provides equivalent or greater privacy protections.

• Inworld AI — voice audio generation for tutor responses
• Vercel — app hosting and infrastructure
• Upstash Redis — session and progress data storage
• Apple / Google — in-app purchase processing
• Razorpay / Stripe / DodoPayments — web payment processing

7. Data Security

• All data transmitted over HTTPS
• Conversation data encrypted at rest
• Voice recordings not stored permanently
• Access restricted to authorised team only

8. Your Rights

• Access: request a copy of your data
• Delete data: request partial data deletion
• Delete account: request account deletion
• Correct: update profile anytime in app
• Export: request your learning data
• Opt out: turn off notifications in settings

9. Children's Privacy

App is for users aged 13 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

10. Data Retention

• Active account: kept while account active
• Deleted account: removed within 30 days
• Payment records: 7 years (legal requirement)
• Anonymous analytics: up to 2 years

11. Changes to This Policy

We notify you of significant changes via email or in-app notification.
